A precocious fan of horror, Strigoi was just a kitten when he expressed deep interest in the animated Grinch, a monster as terrible as any Krampus. Sitting wide-eyed before the screen, he followed the movement of colorful figures and listened intently to the rich tones of Boris Karloff’s narration. Horror movie scores were the lullabies of Strigoi’s childhood. Nestled on my lap, he was like a sponge, absorbing the music and images of Shudder’s newest arrivals. Eventually, he developed his own taste. At the sound of a terribly dubbed Gialo, his ears perk up. He loves the action of Lamberto Bava’s Demons (motorcycles in a movie theater!) and appreciates any horror movie with vehicular chase scenes.
